Founder and CEO

With over a decade of experience, Riskon help clients design and implement an overall strategy that ensures systems are safe, their risk potential is minimised and that they keep operating the way that they are meant to in the long term. Riskon is experienced in transport, rail, oil and gas, petrochemicals and many other industries. We are not limited to these, however, and can provide assistance to organisations in any industry.

 

While many people come to Riskon because of the reasons offered above, it is Riskon's CEO, Angelo Di Giunta, which makes people choose Riskon.

 

With more than a decade of career experience in Enterprise Risk, System Safety Assurance, Risk Engineering, Safety Standard Development & Project, and financial risk management, Sydney-based Angelo Di Giunta has worked for numerous major organisations and is a sought-after and trusted fulltime consultant.

 

He is presently contracted as a Safety Assurance Engineer with Transport for NSW, governing the signalling design system safety assurance case for Auburn Junction Project Stage 11.

 

Previous, Angelo was engaged as a Safety Assurance Manager with John Holland Group, charged with the construction, commissioning and operational handover of a new stabling transfer road for the Auburn Stabling Facility. In this role, the John Holland relied upon his expertise in overseeing compliance with TfNSW Safety Assurance & Safety Management System requirements; developing project-related Safety Assurance deliverables; and management of its Project Hazard Log.

 

And in his consistently successful alliance with John Holland, Angelo was contracted as a Safety Assurance Manager for its Liverpool Turnback Project, delivered on behalf of Transport for NSW. Here, he was given Safety Assurance oversight of the design, construction and commissioning of 1.8km of new track, two new mainline turnouts, a new platform and concourse, among other facilities.

 

In collaboration with Atkins, Angelo was contracted for his sought-after and trusted expertise which Angelo applied culminating in Angelo being instrumental in the delivery of Sydney Trains Maintenance Division Safety Assurance case for Sydney Trains stand up on 1 July 2013, one of the largest NSW government reform programs undertaken.

 

Angelo successes did not stop here, he was further called upon by Sydney Trains to provide Enterprise Risk and Safety expertise to the Business Performance and Reform division. In his capacity as Enterprise Risk and Safety subject matter expert, he developed the Enterprise risk framework, reporting and supporting management systems, and held a seat on the program authority stage gate as the risk management peer reviewer.

 

Other career stops include a fulltime position as Alliance Safety Change Manager with Novo Rail Alliance, ably contributing to the company’s safety risk and assurance management requirements to ensure strict compliance with all legislative and organisational requirements; as a fulltime Risk Management Consultant for Sinclair Knight Merz, providing robust services to both internal members within SKM and external third party clients; and as Projects Manager at Standards Australia, given full supervision in facilitating its development of consumer, engineering and transportation standards.

 

Angelo earned a Master of Science & Technology in Risk Management from the University of NSW in Sydney, a Bachelor’s in Engineering from University of Technology Sydney, and additional studies in Internal Auditing from SAI Global.

 

He is a member of the Risk Management Institution of Australasia (RMIA) and the Australasian Institute of Dangerous Goods Consultants (AIDGC).
